Story of my Pasta Indiano Ishtyle !!!

It's half past 2 in the afternoon. Sitting on my sofa, and looking out through the window the foggy and chilled climate. Thoughts running in my mind: So foggy today, cant go out for a walk!. While these thoughts are  running behind my mind , am carelessly watching the vehicles passing on the roadside, my adjacent building apartments and the loud noised fire engines. Fire engines and ambulance are so frequent on the roads here. And the loud noise of it would nearly crack ur head sitting with an open window.

Oh, I forgot, its time to have lunch. But wait, I dint prepare any lunch today morning. Oh gosh....its already 2.00, now what's the quickest meal I can have? Searching my neatly packed cupboards, I found MACRONI packets. With a big sigh in my mind, I took out those carefully untouching my other boxes.

Now the next couple of things running in my mind.... well i have cooked Macroni Pasthas long back, but cant memorise it well. Just to brush my memory, I thot of enquiring with my all time favourite "Google Uncle". Google says" Speak Now",I said: "Macroni Indian style" and said "OK Google". In a giffy of time, Google collected the info required from all the database available and presented before my eyelashes. I found a list of options to choose from. Now thats my Google Uncle, always a helping hand!

Got these and + more options:
Now I can hear a knock knock on my door, wait a minute, lemme see who it is! Okay those are my flat mates, they are calling me for the usual round of beach walk." Come in 10 minutes " Be quick. Well I said, okay, meet u guys in the down floor. So taking a break for a while.

After catching up with them, here I am to complete my post. After reading a few of the recepies, i tried making "Indian style Macroni pasta"....Just like you see in pictures, I too got my yummilicious Macroni ready.See below:

Recipe
  • Boil Macroni in boiling water, with a drip of oil and a pinch of salt.
  • After boiling keep it aside
  • Take a frying pan and dribble a little oil
  • Put chopped onion, carrots, green chillies (all together a handful of these chopped items)
  • While the onion turns a little brown, put chilly powder, turmeric powder, salt and stir well till it gets half cooked
  • Then add the boiled Macroni's along with it and mix it well and again heat in low flame
  • Now the Yummy Macroni Pastha is ready toserve.....

Yummy Pastha from frying pan to my plate :)

Hope you liked my Pastha Story, Do comment if u like it :) Have a wonderful day.

What is my Priority?

All of my readers must have had to think about the above question in mind at some point of your life! What is my current priority? Just think about it.

So a million things would be running your mind reading this question.
- What is Priority? Priority is an important factor rated in a descending order for your tasks, daily routine, current life path and more..

Priority and Time are very much inter-related. There is a saying, ask about the value of time to a student whose finishing his exam time and to a runner competing a marathon for that last one second in finishing that crossing line. A time elapsed cannot be taken back to complete your task. Similarly Priorities cant be redone once the the alotted time is elapsed.

Priority starts counting as early as our childhood days. Soon after we come from school, whats the first thing you do? Do you watch TV, finish ur home work, or play with siblings/friends? The order wud be : Play with sibblings 2.Watch Tv 3.(and if time remains) Finish ur home work (A big grin). It is needless to assign priorities for kids, they know what they want to do and what they like to do.

Moving from Childhood to Teenage days. Priorities which once where in Ascending order becomes Descending. Now ur Priority is mixed with pressure. Pressure from your family, relatives, teachers and ur bullshit neighbours! Yes I mean it, Once you start growing up, people evaluate u more with ur studies, mark lists and rank lists. So u r under a constant pressure and competency to prove the world that "I am eligible to be like someone else"!! It reminds me of the joke in a social media site wall. Our Education system is like the Ad below :D

And so is the Priority you have when u r in a friend circle. What they say and ur reputation matters in a close knit circle. Because they are ur kith and kin at one point of time. But when you move on and build ur own family, it is of less importance to u what ur circle says. I hope you can relate any of these to ur life events. And more when you move towards the coming years, ur family, job, money and material things becomes ur priority.

Hence the Priorities that we see from our childhood changes its color, shape and rigidity according to ur role and responsibilities from time to time. Hope you like my Priority Article :) And do comment if u like. :)

Chicago - the Wind City

There is always a blockage to start writing, you know.. thinking of what to scribble down.
Today may be am writing a mix up of posts ranging from cooking, to new place, peoples, DOGS and expressions in Chicago!! You must be wondering what kind of a post is this :D Sounds quirky, but let me start off.

This is my first post landing in Chicago. Chicago is a city in the state of Illinois. It falls by the side of Lake Michigan. The time I landed here is summer. Though not the summer we have seen in India. Chicago is called the Wind City. And it also one of the 3rd most popular cities in United States.
I have been a person whose has always stayed glued to Kerala. So this was a welcome change for me.The ciyt, life and lifestyles are all very different. While walking through the streets with my hus and his friend the first few days were like walking on a dreamland. The Amazing liveness and colors and skyscraper building just amused me! And forget not to mention about the people and dressing. All shorts and ultra shorts walking freely across the streets with their boyfriends hand in hand. Seeing this, it quickly reminded me of the Indian streets and people. No matter what u wear, even a burqa, people wud come near you especially towards females, just to rub your shoulder!!! Alas now what a difference of people i see here. One thing worth mentioning is the respect of people towards each other. There is less racism towards other country nationalities. Even when you walk to the stores, Americans generally greet you, they say - hai hello-how are u n stuff. But if we see an Indian they wont even bother to say a Hai.

Now coming to the "Wind City". As the name suggests, Chicago is on the lakeside with a great view of vast ocean like Lake Michigan. City is often cold with high winds. Wind means it will literally blow ur hair up and the coldness of the wind makes u fold ur hands quickly as possible to rub some heat. So the first day of going out, I wore my new Woodlands winter Jacket, bought exclusively from Woodlands showroom in cochin. :D ( Well just for my readers info ;) ). Wearing and walking with pride through the streets, i found in no time that, I was a little out of place. Yes, people around me were walking so casually in ultra's and mini's and even simple summer clothes. They are so used to the wind climate here and also they prefer wearing summer clothes. Coz other than the 2 months of summer, city is mostly snowy. So their only chance to roam around in free style is Summer.

Now the DOG thing: :D .Am a pet lover, I love dogs, pets, rabbits and birds. But have not owned or looked after one since long. The city truly amazed me with the number and variety of dogs. I dont even know what the names of these much dogs that i find on the roadways. Well am not mentioning about street dogs. They are all Owned pets. And most of all, ts so funny to watch these pets. Yes I really really mean it guys. Next to my apartment is a Dog park. People come with their pets in the evening to play and mingle with other pets. Once these pets meet each other, suddenly there is an inbound love and friendship that circulates them. They start kissing and licking each other. So funny isn't it. And more funnier is that, they keep sniffing the ground always. And finds out if any other pet has pottied there, if so they will also potty on the same spot. :D :D :D . I just cant keep smiling while i write this. Poor pet owners, they always carry a plastic bag to pick up these potty things. (Well thats the only thing which pulls me away from buying a pet dog... Ohh i just cant imagine picking it up from roadsides :| )!!!
So i guess, this much would be enough for this post.I will jot sown my cooking things on my upcoming blog. Hope u liked and Do comment okay!!

Rahul Gandhi mock Ads.!!

Namaste !!!

Rahul-Gandhi-PM
Needless to introduce this personality, you can see him all over the channel Ads and Roadside banners to gain his voting strength for the next PM in India. Am not much of a political person or knows much on the BJP and Congress clashes. But in recent times - may be i should say in about a year's time, there has been an array of Mock Adv.'s circulating on Rahul Gandhi, portraying him as a brainless person or whatever. The last one to be seen yesterday on FB by 2 stand up comedians.
Eventhough the Comedy Ad seemed funny, it was a direct usage of Rahul's name and his current situation. Felt sarcastic! See the video below :-I

And see this :O

Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi Enjoy Cycling Funny

Manmohan Singh Funny Photo and Picture Download For Facebook

These and more are circulating in Social media. Wonder y  people don't give a little bit value to these politicians. All they did was ask for votes. No matter you like them or not, every individual has some value, so kindly give respect, whether it be Modi, Rahul, Sonia or Manmohan.

Beauty splash!

Am really quick this time for my next write up :D , its for all you ladies out there - may be even men who read and try this secretly. Do you feel your face skin is rough and dry and needs some pampering? What are the best options you would chose to give it a royal feel? Want to know my mantra for a face rejuvenation? Wait a minute, before jumping to introduce my product, what i would like to say u that, i only use Ayurvedic prodcuts for my skin, so that it doesnt have any side effects. I have heard good reviews on Himalaya products. so i tried my hands on Himalaya Skin nourishing cream. Its cheaper and more effective. Instead of using this cream alone, i purchased Shehanz Sandalwood cream along with it. I took a slight finger dip of both creams in equal portions-mixed it well and applied it all over my face and neck.

Applying the Shehnaz sandal wood cream alone makes ur skin dry. So I mixed it with Himalaya cream. the results are smoot and shiny skin. :)

Pros:
1- Himalaya nourishing cream is good and easy absorbent
2-Himalaya is cheaper compared to to other creams and much effective
3-Shahnaz Sandalwood cream is one of the best sandal wood cream, with its capturing scent

Cons:
1-When both creams mixed, gives your skin a little heavy feeling coz of the Sandalwood, but it lasts only for minutes
2-The scent of Himalaya is a bit too much.

Overall a good try....

Sneak Peak from the last year...

Hey, I know Guys, its been some time I left blogging, yeah a little more longer i guess - almost a year from the last blog. There were too much of things happening so i was veryyy busy to keep myself blogging. So I will take you through the happenings that took over last year.
Since last year was the first on going year of my marriage, me and my husband were always traveling, hopping around here and there whenever we get time. The places we visited in last year seems endless starting from Cherai beach, Athirampally vazhachal, Mulam kuzhy, Nelliyampathy, Ponmudi, Trivandrum city, Patmanabhaswamy temple, Sree patmanabha palace, Alapuzha beach,Varkala beach, Kozhikode, Munnar, Vagamon,Coimbatoor, Ooty, Hyderabad city in and around, Chennai etc etc....(Most places in Kerala). So now u can imagine the length we have traveled. Traveling, shopping, watching latest movies and cooking kept me busy through out the year. Needless to say wherever i land, i try to see the specialty shopping places of that area to fill my good die bag.. :) As each time I shop, i say to myself now i have enough and more but just to see another piece of lovely dress, i forget all and run behind my impulse.
Apart from shopping an all, what I noticed while travelling in Hyderabad and Chennai is that, even though they are much more developed infrastructure wise than Kerala, standards of living is comparatively much cheaper than in Kerala. I was truly amazed by the 6-line neat roads of Hyderabad. And needless to say the most safe city for women travelers. May be becoz its a Muslim dominated area, they value more respect for women folks. even at late night one could see ladies travelling by bus or auto, which is a rare sight in Kerala. The universities, buildings, transportation, Road traffics are all well organised. I also tried Hyderabadi Biriyani(veg), which was ok for one time, could'nt take its strong flavorful smell for more than one time try.
Being an ardont shopper, I should mention about Charminar center in Hyderabad. U can end up bargaining anyting under the roof. Shoes, bags, footwears, bangles (choodi bazar).dresses. etc etc...All day is like a festive day in Charminar. People from all sides flock there bargaining things. Not just Charminar, there are a lot of malls too to hop around and shop. City is too big to imbibe all the essence. We also visited the Ramoji film city,Charminar mosque, Golkanada fort, Birla Mandir and the Hussain sagar lake. All in all we had memorable days in Hyderabad.

Here are some of the pics from Hyderabad:
                                                                  @Charminar:

@Golkonda Fort:

                                                                        @Ramoji:
So this much for this time. I will be penning more regularly (hopefully) to fill you with yet another piece of interesting blog.. Till then Bubyeee....

Munnar Travel & Shopping :)

Ladies and Gentelmen,

Here I am with yet another writeup on my Munnar Shopping and travel experience. Read n Njoy our Munnar conversation !!!

Saturday 9th March - Morning 8.30 AM - Me : Renju(my hubby) can we go somewhere, it's been a while I have been to some places.
Renju: Yes we can! Provided you wake up from your bed and get ready fast ;-)
Me     : Okay... well, I would like to go Munnar, what say?
Renju :Why not Wagamon, my Parents wont allow me to drive till Munnar. They get scared of me driving through the hairpin curves.
Me     : Hmmmmm... But I wish to head to Munnar only, somehow I don't like the idea to see Pine trees and hilly areas of Wagamon :-/
Renju & Me : Heated Debate on Munnar vs. Wagamon ( Now time: 9. 30 AM). Finally we concluded on Munnar,  now go and get ready. Will see where we can go.

----Now we both running up and down to get ready and leave. All the bags packed and ready to leave by 10.30 AM. Yipee.. we are heading out..... -----

Finally we reached Munnar by 2.00 'O' Clock and checked in Elisiyum Resort, near to Munnar town. From the resort, you get a beatiful view of the hilly mountain areas of Munnar. At the time temperature was quite mild, not so hot and not too cold. We immediately left the hotel for sight seeing in Matupetti route. 15 km from hotel, we reached the Echo point in Munnar. We parked our car, and went to see the spot. Eventhough we both have seen these places before, It was the first time we went there together. The echo point was much crowded with college students from Tamil nadu. Youthfull Guys and Ladies, all in their top voices yelling in echo point  ;-). We dint find it much romantic to stay there for more than 3 minutes to take a snap at all. Left the area, and went for street shoppping and mouth watering eateries on the road side.

As a shopoholic person, it's manadotry for me to keep my levels of shopping. My helpless husband just kept starring of my anxiety in moving from stall to stall seeign all the glittering bags and earrings :-). Meanwhile ther were few collge girls beside me bargaining on the items in shop, asking "ithu yevallow villai". Oyeah! I learned some Tamil some them. It says - "How much does it cost". Gee... guys I know I am making it a bit elaborate, just bear with it.

Ok, now it's time I stop blabbering and share with you guys the items I shopped. See below:

Colse up of my Jewellery accessories. All these costed - Rs. 235:

Now see some of our Munnar snaps:

1- View from Elisiyum Resort
 2: Munnar Teas estate

 3: Penstock Pipe in Munnar

 4: Kalvery Mount - Idukky

After a funfilled day in Munnar, we headed to Idukky the very next day. Piling to almost 46 km from Munnar. Oh cant say, I hated that journey to Idukki, full of twists and turns. :-/

After reaching there our first visit was to Idukky DAM. The famous DAM as I studied in my geography lessons( and first time seeing) were built between 2 adjacent mountains. See snap below:

And then to Kalvery Mount, the picture posted below. That was an amazing view. The walkway to Kalvery Mount is very steep and hectic, we climbed there in the afternoon, so you can imagine how exhausted we were in the scorching heat in the mountain areas, but it was all worth seeing the view from the top. See below:

And here goes one pic of "OURS": In Kulamavu DAM - Munnar

Some view points in Munnar:

Well well all in all it was a happy journey, came back Sunday evening. Got freshen up and headed to Sivaratri festival in adjacent temple to our home. That's all for this time. Hope you Enjoy reading it.... :)
